Following their qualification from the round-16 stage of the Europa League after beating AC Milan in a 0-1 victory at San Siro, Manchester United have reportedly secured the most lucrative shirt sponsorship deal with Team Viewer.
In light of this, TeamViewer will replace Chevrolet on the front of the club’s jerseys at the start of the 2021-22 season, ending the American car manufacturer’s seven-year run as United’s shirt sponsors.
According to Manchester Evening News, the deal is set to span out for the next five years after a £235million deal with the German technology company was signed and sealed between representatives of both franchises.
The deal is, however, worth a whooping £47m ($65m) per season and will see Manchester United hold the record for securing the most lucrative shirt sponsorship deal in the history of the English Premier League
That said, the new deal puts Manchester United at the same level as Barcelona who previously held the record for the most expensive shirt sponsorship deal across the top 5 leagues of Europe after signing with Rakuten back in 2016.
It is believed that Manchester United is also looking at Chevrolet as the club’s training kit sponsor by finding a new automobile sponsor.
Confirming the news of the deal, the managing director of Manchester United, Richard Arnold said: “We are tremendously proud to be establishing this partnership with one of the most exciting and dynamic global software companies.
“The ability to connect and collaborate has never been more important to the world and our community of 1.1 billion fans and followers.
The TeamViewer logo is blue and white but will be modified to just white on United’s shirts due to their rivalry with neighbours City.
