The former deputy general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has indicated that it’s only a sick mind that will describe Ghana as a Banana Republic.
His comments come off the back of some assertions made by John Mahama when the former president was addressing NDC Members of Parliament.
According to John Mahama, Ghana is now a Banana Republic considering the fact that Alban Bagbin won the Speaker of Parliament election.
But in a post shared on Twitter in response to what the NDC presidential candidate said, Koku Anyidoho argued that Ghana now has a President and a Vice President.
Stressing on his assertions, he also indicated that Ghana has a Chief Justice, a Speaker of Parliament and an NPP Majority in Parliament so he doesn’t get why Mahama will describe the country as a Banana Republic. “It is only sick minds that will say that Ghana, is a banana Republic,” he said.
He wrote, “Ghana has a President and Vice President; Ghana has a Speaker of Parliament; We now have, an NPP Majority Side of Parliament as declared by the Speaker; Ghana has a Chief Justice: it is only sick minds that will say that, Ghana, is a banana Republic”.
