The State Governor of Nasawara, Engineer Abdullahi Sule in response to the steady rise in kidnapping and especially rape cases in Nigeria has announced that kidnappers and rapists in Nasarawa state will henceforth receive a death sentence as their punishment.
He made the announcement during the delivery of his keynote speech at the flag-off awareness creation, sensitisation on the spate of rape and kidnapping event.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Sule at the event, his deputy, Governor Emmanuel Akaabe said Governor Abdullahi Sule’s call for death penalty as punishment for rapists and kidnappers comes after an increasing rise of rape and kidnapping cases in the state.
He said, “We will implement the law against rape, kidnapping in Nasarawa. I will like to send this warning that Nasarawa state government will not condone criminality of any kind in the state.”
Regarding the ongoing #EndSARS protests that have taken a soaring turn across the country, Governo Abdullahi Sule indicated that they wouldn’t be accomodating “imported individuals” in the state as only genuine protest is acceptable.
