Nigerian Twitter Community Mourns #EndSARS Activist Who 3 Hours Before His Death Tweeted "Nigeria Won't Kill Not End Me"

Following the death of one #EndSARS activist in Lagos, the Nigerian Twitter community has been sent into a state of despair as numerous users have taken to their pages to pay their respect to a fallen fellow.

Identified as Oke Obi – Enadhuze, the young man was a graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta.

Some few hours before his death Oke in a tweet asserted that Nigeria would not end him, but unfortunately, Nigeria ended him- an incident that has sent chills down the spine of many online activists.


Announcing his death, it was reported that Oke Obi – Enadhuze, who was shot by a police officer in Lagos had his body dropped off in a bath sink. Per accounts of an eye witness, he was shot inside a police station.

Taking to Twitter to mourn his sudden demise, a school colleague of Oke, Jaiye Wuraola described Oke as “one of the best students” at their senior high school. Surprisingly he held the position of the boys’ school prefect while she held the position of girls school prefect.

His girlfriend who couldn’t bear the pain of his death, in a series of tweets shared heartfelt message on her page as she tagged them with a picture of them.

“We had forever to go,” she wrote. According to her, she’s going to dwell on al the beautiful moments they had together as a couple.

She further divulged that Oke “cared for all his friends. He always wanted to be there for them. He loved my sisters.”

Highlighting his dream career desire, Dede disclosed that Oke wanted to be a “a World Class Designer and he was already getting there..”

Another friend who goes by the name Temie in sharing a moment of her time with Oke said, “He designed our blood donor app – the messages you get from us – he designed all these in like 4 days! He was a genius! He was also kinda shy. And so sweet.”

Paying her final respects to Oke, another female friend of his identified as Sonia wrote “Rip oke, thank you for being an amazing friend, thank you for always looking out for me, I thought we had more movie dates… I literally just spoke to you before I got the call.. I know your in a better place.. Sleep well brother.”

Davido also took to his handle to pay his respects. He asserted that those behind his death must pay. “RIP OKE … they must pay.”

Another user wrote, “Oke died a hero and will forever be remembered. RIP Oke.”

Zlatan Ibile also joined the masses in paying their final respects to Oke. He wrote, “RIP OKE.”
